LISE SÉNÉCAL
Personal Profile
Lise Sénécal has completed postsecondary studies in business administration, psychology and conflict resolution, mediation and facilitation, and has more than 30 years of management experience,
During those years, she’s acquired expertise in business, human resources, non-profit organizations, municipal politics, personal and professional development.
She began her involvement as a municipal councillor and board member in 1994 as an elected representative for the Town of Sturgeon Falls, and became the representative of Ward # 1, on January 1,1999 during the amalgamation which resulted in five organized municipalities and seventeen and a half unorganized townships becoming one administration. The amalgamated council comprised of 8 councillors who represented 8 wards, and one head of the council (mayor) to oversee the newly funded Corporation of West Nipissing.
Being part of the transition board that preceded the official amalgamation, Lise honed her leadership skills, her strong business acumen and understanding of her role on a city council, her honesty and integrity, her straight forward approach and the reputation of “Walk the Talk” and she served on the council to help bring the new corporation on West Nipissing into the 21st century by bringing thoughtful, well-informed and inclusive decision-making to the table.
Lise continues to care deeply about her community, and because Council will face many challenges over the next four years, she would welcome the opportunity to once again, represent ward # 1. She will work diligently to ensure that your voice, and all community voices remain strong, that decision-making processes include citizen participation and engagement which will enable us to build and sustain a vibrant West Nipissing Community.
